The FOLC Farm
The FOLC Farm is a homestead and learning center where folks can come together to take classes, learn skills, share knowledge, have discussions and enjoy being in a peaceful setting where connecting with the land and others is possible.
We offer courses with a broad range of content that falls under the umbrella of outdoor education, wilderness first aid, mental health first aid, sustainable environmental practices, self-sufficiency skills, health, and well-being. In addition to courses for adults and kids, there are free community events to come together, relax and enjoy each other's company.

The FOLC Farm is ideally located among beautiful forests, prairies, state, city and county parks while still convenient to city amenities. You can visit Payne's Prairie, Boulware Springs, Gainesville-Hawthorne Bike Trail, Sweetwater Preserve Trails, Siembre Farm and more all within walking distance of The FOLC Farm. Sweetwater Wetlands Park, Biven's Arm Nature Park, Newnans Lake, Prairie Creek Preserve, Downtown Gainesville, Depot Park, University of Florida and Shands Hospital are just a short drive or bike ride away.

Catherine is a Florida native who loves hiking, camping, paddling, cycling and SCUBA diving around the sunshine state, the U.S. and internationally. She is a Paramedic with Alachua County Fire Rescue, Wilderness EMT, SOLO Wilderness First Aid and First Responder instructor, Mental Health First Aid USA instructor, AHA and Red Cross CPR instructor, and has lead outdoor trips for adults and children. As a mother of two and having worked as a teacher for many years, Catherine has extensive experience running and instructing courses for people of all ages. She and her family live in Gainesville, FL running their homestead and learning center, The FOLC Farm.
